A big alert has been issued by Indian Railways for lakhs of railway passengers traveling to the country's capital on Saturday, October 10. In view of the proposed massive protests in the capital Delhi, security vigil at Jantar Mantar and extensive traffic advisory issued by Delhi Traffic Police in Central Delhi, Northern Railway has made major changes in the operation of trains. Railways has canceled more than 45 premium superfast, mail and express trains reaching New DelhiClick to open side panel for more information and Hazrat Nizamuddin DelhiClick to open side panel for more information railway station between 4:00 am to 2:00 pm on October 10. Along with this, timings of many important trains have been rescheduled. More than 45 trains including Rajdhani and Shatabdi cancelled, why was this decision taken? According to Railway Ministry and Delhi Police, there will be heavy diversion and barricading at more than 30 major intersections of Central Delhi from 6:00 am on Saturday morning. There was a serious possibility of severe traffic jams and passengers getting stranded at the station itself, especially around the station premises – Ajmeri Gate, Paharganj, Minto Road, Chelmsford Road and Nizamuddin. Keeping this chaos and safety of passengers in mind, Railways has decided to cancel or reschedule the trains leaving their origin stations after 2:00 pm on October 9 and reaching New Delhi and Nizamuddin on the morning of October 10. List of major trains that remain canceled The trains affected include several VIP trains running from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan: Rajdhani and Shatabdi services: Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani Express (12301), Sealdah-New Delhi Rajdhani Express (12313), Rajendra Nagar-New Delhi Tejas Rajdhani Express (12309), Mumbai CSMT-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani (22221) and Kanpur. Central-New Delhi Shatabdi Express (12033). Major trains running from Uttar Pradesh: Prayagraj-New Delhi Prayagraj Express (12417), Prayagraj-New Delhi Humsafar (12275), Kanpur-New Delhi Shram Shakti Express (12451), Manikpur-Hazrat Nizamuddin UP Sampark Kranti (12447), Banaras-New Delhi Sivaganga Express (12559), Banaras-New Delhi Superfast (12581), Lucknow-New Delhi Tejas Express (82501), Lucknow Mail (12229), Lucknow AC Special (12429), Agra Cantt-New Delhi Intercity (14211) and Kasganj-New Delhi Intercity (15303). Bihar and Jharkhand Routes: Sampoorna Kranti Express (12393), Magadh Express (20801), Rajendra Nagar-New Delhi Amrit Bharat Express (22361) and Ranchi-New Delhi Express (12877). Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan Routes: Jabalpur-Hazrat Nizamuddin Mahakoshal/Sampark Kranti/Superfast (22181, 12189, 12121), Indore-New Delhi (12415), Rani Kamalapati-Nizamuddin (12155), Kota-Nizamuddin (12059) and Udaipur City-Hazrat Nizamuddin (12964). Rescheduled Trains: Mumbai Central-New Delhi Tejas Rajdhani (12951) and Mumbai Central-Hazrat Nizamuddin August Kranti Rajdhani (12953) have been rescheduled with a delay of 5 hours each. Passengers will get full refund, do these things before leaving the station. Railway administration has clarified that 100% full refund will be given to the passengers whose trains have been canceled due to administrative and security reasons. The entire amount will be automatically credited to the accounts of passengers booking e-tickets through IRCTC website or app without any cancellation charge. Passengers who have taken PRS tickets from the counter can visit the counter within the stipulated time limit and get a full refund. Before leaving home for the station, all passengers must check the live running status of their PNR number or train number on the official website of Indian Railways (enquiry.indianrail.gov.in), NTES mobile app, or call the railway inquiry number 139 to get the latest information.
