New Delhi: Tremors were felt in Delhi and adjoining areas late Tuesday after a 4.9-magnitude earthquake hit Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district.


According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS) — the nodal government agency monitoring earthquake activity — the epicentre was located at a depth of 13 km in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli.


The quake, which logged 4.9 magnitude on the Richter’s scale, hit at 10:23 pm, the NCS added.
