Patna : The second phase of the JD(U)’s four-day outreach and mass awareness programme to press for Bihar ’s interests in the renewal of the India-Bangladesh treaty on sharing Ganga waters will begin on Tuesday. The party has named the programme ‘ Nitish Samvad ’.
JD(U) state chief Umesh Singh Kushwaha reviewed preparations for the programme at the state headquarters.
The India-Bangladesh treaty is due for renewal on Dec 12. The JD(U) has been using the programme to highlight Bihar’s interests, with party working president and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Kumar Jha as the key speaker.
He said the first meeting of the second phase would be held in Saran on Tuesday, followed by Vaishali on Wednesday, Samastipur on Thursday and Patna on Friday.
The review meeting was held virtually and attended by lawmakers from the districts concerned, district and block presidents, senior party members and heads of various party cells.
