The long-awaited project is likely to be inaugurated on September 29, said on Saturday.




Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta are expected to attend the inauguration, Singh said.




The Phase 3 corridor is aimed at improving connectivity between East and South Delhi by providing signal-free movement between Mayur Vihar Phase 1 and AIIMS.




Once operational, the new flyover will connect with the existing at Sarai Kale Khan, taking the total stretch to around 9 km.




Highlighting the project's infrastructure features, Singh said:




"The project is also set to become a landmark in . For the first time in India, a flyover corridor has been designed with a dedicated , promoting greener and more sustainable mobility for Delhiites. Alongside faster vehicular movement, the project also includes and modern urban design elements," the PWD minister said.




The project received approval in 2014, with construction beginning in 2015. It was originally targeted for completion in 2017, but several delays pushed back the timeline and led to a substantial increase in costs. The revised cost is now around Rs 1,635 crore.




Officials said construction of both ramps of the elevated corridor has been completed. One ramp connects from the Mayur Vihar side, while the other extends from the existing corridor near Sarai Kale Khan.




The PWD has also completed the extra-dosed bridge across the Yamuna, which will serve as the connecting structure for the elevated corridor.
