The incident of building collapse in Delhi's Satya Niketan was so horrifying that the entire scene changed in a few seconds. Sunil, who ran a paan shop and narrowly escaped the accident, narrated his eyewitness account of that dreadful afternoon. According to Sunil, the accident happened at around 1:30 pm.

Sunil told that he was sitting inside the shop and a customer was standing outside. Then a cloud of dust was seen rising from the opposite building. When he looked back, he saw that the building was sinking downwards and within no time the entire building fell forward. The debris fell on his shop and he was trapped inside.

Sunil got stuck in the shop, it was difficult to even breathe.

According to Sunil, after the debris fell, the shop was completely closed from outside. Dust filled inside and it became difficult to breathe. He lowered the shutter and then tried to get over her. According to Sunil, it took him about half an hour to get out of the shop.

He told that electric current had also spread in the shop. In such a situation, it became more difficult to go out. Finally, with the help of sticks, they broke the shutter and somehow came out of the shop.

Phone buried under debris, news given to wife through someone else's phone

Sunil told that his phone was also buried under the debris. After this, he called his wife from someone else's phone and asked her to bring his clothes because his clothes were damaged in the accident.

According to Sunil, after the accident, the same scene kept flashing before his eyes the whole night. He knew many of the children living in the building. He said that he himself is a father and can understand the pain of children.

Said to have less children due to holidays

According to Sunil, it was a holiday on the day of the accident and because of three consecutive days of holidays, there were less children present in the building than on normal days. According to his estimate, around 14-15 children were there at that time. He also mentioned the child who had sent the video of the accident. His name was told as Ankit. According to Sunil, Ankit had survived the accident and used to come to his shop every day.

Ankit told – first the basement, then the upper floors caved in.

Ankit, who reached the spot after the accident, told that when he reached there there was dust all around. According to the information he received, first the basement, then the ground floor and the first floor caved in. After this the upper floors fell forward.

Ankit told that there was a car parked in front of the building, so the debris did not go very far. He also saw a person trapped in the debris outside the shop. According to Ankit, within about half an hour to quarter of an hour of the accident, a laborer was also pulled out from the debris near the temple. His leg was stuck in the debris, while the upper part of his body was outside.

Concern was also expressed regarding the second building

Kuljeet, who was involved in the rescue, told that he was engaged in relief and rescue along with Delhi Police and NDRF. According to him, he was told that the fallen building of Shop No. 14 was supporting the building of Shop No. 13 from below. In such a situation, during the removal of debris, there was also a threat to the building of shop number 13.

After the accident, relief and rescue operations have been completed. This entire incident has shocked the students and local people living in Satya Niketan. According to eyewitnesses, the scene of the accident was so horrific that even the people present at the spot became emotional after seeing it.
