Petrol Diesel Price 27 August 2026: Crude oil prices are continuously falling. At around 6 am today, Brent crude was trading below $88 per barrel. Government oil marketing companies (OMCs) like IOCL, BPCL and HPCL are keeping an eye on this latest development. Meanwhile, India’s government oil marketing companies have released the rates of petrol and diesel for August 27. Today the cheapest fuel in the country is in Port Blair, where petrol is priced at ₹88.66 per litre, while diesel is priced at ₹84.56. Meanwhile, the cheapest cooking gas, or LPG, is at ₹941.50 in Mumbai. Despite the fall in crude oil prices in India, there is no change in the fuel rates.
According to Bloomberg, the price of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude was trading $0.59 per barrel lower at $81.64 around 6 a.m., and international benchmark Brent crude was trading $0.63 per barrel lower at $87.21.
Today the prices of petrol and diesel remain stable across the country. Fuel rates in India have not changed since May 25. On that day, government oil marketing companies (OMCs) had increased the prices of petrol by Rs 2.61 per liter and diesel by Rs 2.71 per liter.

Petrol in Jaipur is Rs 112.66 and diesel is Rs 97.78 per liter. In Patna, petrol is Rs 112.70 and diesel is Rs 99.87 per liter. Petrol in Lucknow is Rs 102.05 and diesel is Rs 99.28. Petrol in Bhopal is Rs 114.65 and diesel is Rs 99.74 per liter.
In Delhi, the price of 1 liter petrol without ethanol i.e. E0 is Rs 167.35 per liter. Petrol adulterated with only 5 per cent ethanol, i.e. E5 petrol, is priced at ₹ 109.24 per litre, and petrol adulterated with 20 per cent ethanol, i.e. E20, is priced at ₹ 102.12 per litre.
The effect of fluctuations in crude oil prices is not the same in every country. It depends on whether fuel prices are decided by the market or the government. Experts call this the “pass-through effect”, which means how much of the change in the price of crude oil is passed through to the retail prices of petrol and diesel.
In countries where the prices of petrol and diesel are completely determined by the market, the effect of changes in the price of crude oil is visible very quickly.
