Ranchi:Protests by students continue in Jharkhand over alleged irregularities in JPSC-JSSC examinations. Amidst the movement, protesting student Prem Nayak has made serious allegations against the government. Giving information about his deteriorating health, he has suggested 'Jail Bharo Andolan' to take the movement forward.

Prem Nayak said that Sunday is the 23rd day of the movement, while his hunger strike has reached the 13th day. They allege that the government is not showing seriousness regarding the demands of the students. He said that his health has deteriorated considerably. He also had fever and an attempt was made to take him for treatment, but he refused to go to the hospital. Describing his condition as serious, Prem Nayak said that he does not think that he will be able to remain in this condition for long.

Suggested 'jail bharo movement'

Prem Nayak claimed that student leader Devendra Nath Mahato has been taken away from there and is not being allowed to return. According to him, its objective may be to weaken the movement. There is a discussion going on among the students regarding the siege of the Chief Minister's residence, but the final decision has not been taken yet. Prem Nayak said that in his personal opinion, 'Jail Bharo Andolan' could be more effective than gheraoing the Chief Minister's residence. He also talked about considering the option of closing schools and colleges.

Announcement of siege of Chief Minister's residence on August 20

JPSC-JSSC Reform Forum has announced to gherao the Chief Minister's residence on August 20. The protesting students are demanding cancellation of the JSSC-CGL exam and a CBI inquiry into the entire matter. The Manch has also announced to burn the effigies of the Chief Minister and Rahul Gandhi in all the districts of the state on August 16. For the first time during the movement, a demand for the resignation of the Chief Minister has also come forward.

Devendra Nath Mahato accused the police

Earlier on August 15, student leader Devendra Nath Mahato had expressed his views regarding police action on social media platform X. He alleged that while stopping him from going to the flag hoisting program at Jaipal Singh Stadium, there was a scuffle with the police, due to which he got injured on his chest.

According to Mahato, he had expressed his desire to participate in the flag hoisting and Tiranga Yatra at the protest site Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium. After this, police force was deployed outside his room in the hospital. He raised the question that if there is no freedom to hoist the tricolor flag and participate in the Tiranga Yatra in one's own country, then what kind of freedom will it be called?
