New Delhi. A hearing was held in the Supreme Court today in the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi and Shahi Idgah Mosque dispute case of Mathura. During this, the top court indicated that the matter can be sent again before the Allahabad High Court on the issue of representing all the devotees of Lord Krishna. Actually, 18 cases to this dispute are pending in Allahabad High Court. Of these, 15 cases are being heard along with case number 1. Case number 17 was given permission by the High Court last year to represent all the devotees of Lord Krishna. The plaintiffs of case number 1 are opposing it.

According to Live Law, the plaintiff in case number 1 says that he has been fighting the legal battle in the case for many years and it is wrong for the court to declare any new petition as a representative suit. A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court regarding this. The bench of Justice Sanjay Kumar and Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva asked the plaintiff's counsel, Senior Advocate Shyam Dewan, whether there has been any progress in the ongoing talks between the plaintiffs regarding a settlement. Justice Kumar said that on the previous date, someone had appeared and informed that some negotiations were going on between the litigants involved in the suits. To this Diwan replied that he was not aware of the negotiation of any agreement.

After this the bench asked the other parties whether they were aware of it. After receiving no response, the court adjourned the hearing of the case for two weeks. Justice Kumar orally said that the High Court should have given notice to the litigants of Case No. 1 that it was going to decide on the issue to the representatives of Lord Krishna. The judge also admitted that the application filed by the plaintiffs in case number 17 was about something else, whereas the High Court had given its verdict on something else.
