Tezzbuzz Desk – The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parliamentary party meeting, “Mangal Milan,” was held on Tuesday, August 4. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, along with several senior NDA leaders and MPs, attended the meeting. During the meeting, Union Labor and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya gave a detailed presentation on employment, skill development, and social security. He shared statistics on the central government’s achievements and various schemes over the past decade.
The meeting, held in the GMC Balayogi Auditorium in the Parliament Library Building, discussed employment, as well as issues to sports and the Commonwealth Games. Mandaviya claimed that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, major changes have taken place in the areas of employment, skill development, and social security since 2014.
In his presentation, Mansukh Mandaviya claimed that more than 171 million new jobs have been created in the country during the NDA government’s tenure from 2014 to 2024. He also compared this to the tenure of the previous UPA government. According to Mandaviya, around 29 million jobs were created during the UPA regime. He claimed that the increase in employment generation during the NDA government is almost six times more than that of the UPA. The Union Minister described these figures as the result of the government’s employment and economic policies. He said that various central schemes and programs have played an important role in creating new employment opportunities.
Unemployment data was also presented at the NDA meeting. Mansukh Mandaviya claimed that India’s unemployment rate will fall to 3.1 percent by 2025.
Comparing it with the global average, he said that this figure is better than the global average of 4.8 percent including many developed countries.
Mandaviya said that along with increasing employment opportunities, the government has also laid emphasis on skill development to prepare the youth as per the job and industry needs.
Statistics to employability of youth were also shared in the presentation. Mandaviya claimed that the employability of the youth of the country was around 34 percent in 2013, which increased to 56 percent in 2025. He explained the role of ‘Make in India’, Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and various government initiatives to employment behind this increase. The Union Minister also mentioned the ‘PM Package’ of ₹ 2 lakh crore. He said that through employment and skill schemes, efforts have been made to create new opportunities for the youth and prepare them as per the needs of the industry.
Mansukh Mandaviya also included social security statistics as part of his presentation. He claimed that by 2026, approximately 1.01 billion citizens in the country would be covered by social security. He also mentioned the government’s work to provide security to laborers, unorganized sector workers, and other segments through various social security schemes.
Stating that employment generation, skill development and social security are interlinked, Mandaviya said that in the last few years the government has taken many important steps in these three areas.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accompanied by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP National President Nitin Naveen, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, and Education Minister Prahlad Joshi, along with several senior NDA leaders and MPs, at the “Mangal Milan” meeting. During the meeting, presentations were made on topics to employment and skills, as well as sports and the Commonwealth Games.
Praising the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mansukh Mandaviya said that since 2014, major changes have been seen in the field of employment, skills and social security in the country.
During each session of Parliament, the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting is usually held on Tuesdays. This time, these meetings have been named “Mangal Milan.” The first meeting in this series was held on July 21st. This was the third “Mangal Milan” meeting held on Tuesday during the monsoon session. Through this meeting, NDA MPs are being given information to the government’s schemes, achievements, and key issues. This time, data to employment, skill development, and social security were prominently presented.
According to data presented by Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, over 170 million jobs have been created in the last 10 years, while youth employability has also increased significantly. Regarding the unemployment rate, the government has claimed it will reach 3.1 percent by 2025.
