Former Indian batsman Robin Uthappa has announced his all-time India ODI playing eleven (ODI XI). But the surprising thing is that in this team, he has shown the way out to the country’s third highest run-scorer, opener Rohit Sharma.

Uthappa chose his team through an interesting ‘This and That’ challenge on Instagram. He preferred Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly as the opening pair. While Sachin is the most successful batsman in ODI history with 18,426 runs, ICC Hall of Fame inductee Sourav Ganguly has also scored 11,221 runs in 308 matches.

To bat at number 3, Uthappa has chosen former captain Virat Kohli, who is the second highest run scorer in ODIs for India and is the ‘Century King’ of this format with 54 centuries. He has handed over the command of the middle order to Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni. 2011 World Cup winning captain Dhoni has also been made the captain of this team.

To complete the batting unit, Uthappa placed Suresh Raina at number 6. After this, leaving behind Hardik Pandya in the slot of fast bowling all-rounder, he expressed confidence in 1983 World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev.

Talking about the spin department, Ravindra Jadeja made it to the team as a spin-all-rounder by defeating R Ashwin. Uthappa chose Anil Kumble over Harbhajan Singh as the main spinner. To give edge to the fast bowling attack, left-handed veteran Zakir Khan and India’s current yorker king Jasprit Bumrah have been included.

Gautam Gambhir wants Rohit Sharma to play ‘relaxed’?

On the other hand, Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir has given a big and positive message about Rohit Sharma. There are constant speculations about the future of Rohit Sharma before the 2027 ODI World Cup. Meanwhile, according to reports, Gambhir has clearly told Rohit to stop worrying about the future and continue batting in his natural and aggressive style.

Quoting sources, it is reported that Gambhir believes that Rohit has done a lot for Indian cricket. In such a situation, there should not be any kind of external pressure on them. The coach wants the ‘Hitman’ to come out on the field openly without any mental burden and put pressure on the opponents with his fearless style.
