Fitness in sports has been crucial for any athlete who wants to push themselves at the highest level of their performance. As the format of cricket has evolved, players have become more cautious about their fitness. While we hear about a lot of injuries these days, the cricket boards are taking care of their players with several other tests.
Virat Kohli, who is seen as the unofficial ambassador of fitness in cricket, has set a different benchmark. At the age of 37, the Delhi-born cricketer is one of the fittest cricketers in the world. Players often take inspiration from this indian superstar, and he continues to inspire the emerging young talents across the world.

Ranjit Bajaj, a prominent football figure and the founder of the Minerva Academy Football & Cricket Club, recently delivered a bold and shocking claim on Virat Kohli regarding his fitness. He believes that his U-13 and U-15 boys will have a higher score than Kohli in Yo-Yo Tests.
YouTuber turned podcaster Raj Shamani recently invited Ranjit Bajaj on his podcast to discuss Indian football. Bajaj didn’t hold back from sharing his honest opinions.
On Raj Shamani’s podcast, Ranjit Bajaj said:
"My under-13s all have a higher Yo-Yo score than Kohli. My 13-year-olds and my 12-year-olds have a higher score than Virat Kohli. And I'm saying it openly for an open challenge. My under-15s are crossing him by far. By far. They will outrun Virat Kohli or the fittest cricketer in India by far."
Yo-Yo test is one of the most difficult tests for an athlete. The test involves an intense aerobic fitness test that measures an athlete's ability to perform repeated high-intensity intervals.
With the age, Virat Kohli still seems young when other cricketers are still struggling with their health and passion for this sport. However, Virat Kohli missed the last ODI series for India against Afghanistan due to a hamstring injury, but he will return for the England ODIs. He has been included in the squad for the ODIs, but his participation will be subject to fitness. Kohli was present at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru and was cleared to travel to England after passing the fitness test.
