Delhi and the National Capital Region are likely to witness an active spell of changing weather conditions over the coming days, with thunderstorms, intermittent rainfall, lightning activity and strong winds expected to affect multiple districts across the region. Although the temperature levels will not be experiencing any major change in the immediate future, the weather patterns indicate that one should be prepared for any sudden changes in the weather patterns, especially during the afternoon and evening periods.

As per the recent , there are chances of partly cloudy to cloudy weather with some areas experiencing thunderstorms in the Delhi NCR region. Strong surface winds ranging between 40–50 kmph, with gusts potentially touching 60 kmph, are also likely during some periods over the next few days.

Meteorological observations indicate that conditions remain favourable for the monsoon to progress further into more parts of northern and central India in the coming days. At the same time, a western disturbance affecting Haryana and adjoining regions is also contributing to weather instability across the wider area.

For Delhi residents who have spent much of the season coping with intense heat, the incoming spell of rain and thunderstorms could bring short periods of relief. However, weather experts indicate that temperatures may not witness a major drop immediately.

It is expected that there would be no major changes in the maximum temperature over the next five days, though the minimum temperature is expected to slowly increase by 2–3 degrees Celsius. What this implies is that though rainfall and clouds might make the weather cooler at certain points during the day, hot and humid weather is still expected to prevail.

The outlook for each district in Delhi and neighboring NCR regions shows that the weather conditions are quite widespread and not localized.

Regions such as New Delhi, South Delhi, East Delhi, Central Delhi, Shahdara and South West Delhi are forecast to have cloudy weather with occasional rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and dust storms. Similar conditions are forecast for nearby NCR regions including Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad.

Strong winds remain one of the most significant aspects of the forecast. Winds blowing on the surface at speeds of 40-50 kmph with gusts up to 60 kmph will definitely affect visibility and cause disruptions temporarily. This is due to the fact that such situations usually become very important during the evening hours when the probability of occurrence of thunderstorms becomes very high.

The situation is of importance for people who travel through Delhi-NCR region regularly. Flash rains accompanied by strong winds will result in disruption of traffic flow.

Travel by air can also be affected by thunderstorm conditions and gusty conditions, though no disruptions have yet been reported. Unexpected weather events can sometimes impact the operation of flights and visibility/scheduling, especially when intense thunderstorm conditions arise in the vicinity of airports.

For all those who are traveling to the capital in the upcoming days, they may have to make some allowances on account of the weather conditions prevailing. People visiting places such as museums or monuments might have to keep in mind weather changes in the afternoons and evenings.

Delhi's popular open-air locations could experience some interruptions due to thunderstorms that are expected to strengthen.

Partly cloudy conditions along with thunder development can be seen in the afternoon/evening period of June 25 in Delhi. From June 26 to June 27, increasing weather activity can be experienced with light rain showers, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds becoming frequent.

By June 28, partly cloudy skies are expected, with strong gusts continuing through the day. Very light rainfall and scattered thunderstorms can also occur towards the later stages of the period.
