Patna. Bihar government has taken a big step to protect government land and curb illegal land trade. The state government has decided to ban the purchase, sale and registration of non-majorua common lands. Under this, such lands are being included in the freeze list, due to which their transfer or registration will not be possible.
Government lands will have special identity
The Revenue and Land Reforms Department has directed to start a special campaign to identify non-majorua common lands in all the districts. Officials have been asked to verify such land and prepare a list of it, so that complete records of government properties can be kept safe.
Strictness on illegal land business
In the last few years, such complaints had come to light from various districts, in which it was said that there was wrongful transfer of government and non-majorua lands. Taking these complaints seriously, the government has now adopted a tough stance. After the implementation of the new system, there will be a ban on registration of such lands.
Wrong gathering will be reviewed
The state government has directed the officials to investigate and take necessary action if any non-majorua common land has been frozen wrongly. Such cases will be identified and the records will be reviewed.
Monitoring will be done at zonal level
The Land Reforms Department has entrusted the responsibility of verifying the list of government lands to the zonal officers. Officials have to ensure that no government land in their area remains out of records. For this, the process of detailed investigation and matching of documents will be adopted, so that the land records can be made more accurate.
