A fire broke out on January 31, 2026, in the air-conditioned coach bogie No B1 of Train No 12720 Hyderabad-Jaipur Express while it was halted at Platform No 04 of Nampally Railway Station, Hyderabad, Telangana.
The Fire Control Room received an emergency call at around 6:40 pm, prompting fire tenders from the Niloufer outpost and a water bowser from Gowliguda to be dispatched immediately to the site. Fire Services personnel rapidly initiated firefighting operations and brought the fire under control within a short time, according to an official statement.
District Fire Officer Hyderabad, Thagaram Venkanna, arrived at the scene and personally supervised the operation. He swiftly mobilized the Assembly Fire Team and Disaster Response Team to bolster firefighting and rescue efforts at the site.
Preliminary observations indicated that the fire originated from the air-conditioning unit of bogie No B1. Thanks to the timely response, effective coordination, and courageous efforts of the Fire Services Department, a major disaster was averted.
Assistant District Fire Officer High Court Bhanu Pratap and Station Fire Officer Gowliguda B Sudhakar also participated actively in the firefighting operation, coordinating with responding teams to ensure the situation was fully controlled. No casualties or injuries have been reported.
