According to the information, in April 2024, Habiba Jafri had received a notice from BMC regarding property tax of her bungalow in Andheri. During this time, he was made to meet BMC Assistant Commissioner Mahesh Patil. It is alleged that Mahesh Patil assured him of resolving the tax issue and advised him to invest in a big commercial project.
Won trust by showing fake documents
Police investigation has revealed that the accused described themselves as connected to big builders and government officials. He won the trust of the Jafri family by showing maps, fake letters and photographs of the project. Not only this, fake documents were also used during the alleged registration process.
The family sold the property
It is being told that after gaining confidence, the Jafri family sold many of their properties and invested. According to the police, this amount was transferred to the accounts of different companies. Later, when the original documents were asked, the accused started evasiveness.
