The Rajasthan Royals (RR) have come to find themselves in another trouble as they have been accused of a heavy allegation–exploiting their 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi of child labour–in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The social activist has strictly warned the franchise of legal action.
The 15-year-old prodigy has already faced multiple allegations and been in different controversies. Earlier, people targeted this kid for his age; now, even as he performs at a global level, people are still trying to hit him with nonsensical labels. The latest controversy emerged when the social activist, CM Shivakumar Nayak, threatened to file an FIR against his IPL team, Rajasthan Royals, for exploiting him in the IPL 2026 for child labour.

Speaking during a debate on a Kannada news channel, Nayak labelled that Sooryavanshi is still a minor and is being exploited by their franchise RR.
As quoted by Republic World, Nayak said:
“This 15-year-old boy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi from Rajasthan Royals is being exploited. He is just a child, only 15 years old, and they have brought him into the IPL to play professional cricket. This is nothing but child labour. How can they make a minor boy play in such a big league like this? He should be focusing on his studies, going to school and completing his education instead of playing cricket at this tender age.”
He further added that this puts a wrong impression on the youth of this country. He added that this will set an early professional pressure and exploitation of their potential.
Shivakumar Nayak further said:
"I strongly condemn this, and I will be filing a police complaint or legal case against the Rajasthan Royals management for violating child rights and child labour laws. Don't let this boy play IPL cricket; it's child labour, he should study.”
Earlier this year, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi skipped his 10th board exams to play cricket. The controversy had put him in the limelight, and fans had their share of mixed reactions on this incident. However, the 15-year-old boy from Samstipur has been making a name for himself with his batting. He is proving his worth for the franchise with his aggressive strokeplay batting. At the age of just 14 years and 23 days, he became the youngest debutant in IPL history during IPL 2025.
Amid all these controversies, Sooryavanshi is unstoppable with his form, having scored 404 runs across ten matches for the Royals and has struck with a strike rate of over 237 in the IPL edition.
