Monsoon Alert: The weather has taken a sudden turn in several states across the country. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for strong winds, rain, hailstorms, and heavy rainfall for several states over the next few days. Speaking of Delhi-NCR, the region witnessed heavy rainfall and strong winds late last night. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning regarding rain and thunderstorms for 14 states.


Following the rainfall in Delhi-NCR on May 5, the weather has turned pleasant, providing significant relief to residents from the scorching heat. According to the IMD, Delhi’s skies will remain partly cloudy on May 6 as well, with a possibility of thunderstorms with lightning and light rainfall.


Uttar Pradesh today Weather Forecast
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for rain and thunderstorms at isolated locations across the state within the next 24 hours. The department states that there is a likelihood of strong winds, lightning strikes, and gusty winds in several districts, including Prayagraj, Varanasi, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, and Ballia.
Additionally, winds of 30–40 km/h are expected at isolated places in Western Uttar Pradesh. There is also a possibility of hailstorms.


Bihar Today Weather Update
Several districts in Bihar are expected to experience storms, heavy rainfall, and lightning strikes. The impact is likely to be most pronounced in East Champaran, Gaya, and Aurangabad. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for storms, rain, and lightning across the entire state of Bihar, valid until May 8. Consequently, residents are advised to remain vigilant.


Rajasthan Today Weather Update
Under the influence of a Western Disturbance, several parts of Rajasthan are likely to witness spells of storms and rainfall. According to the Meteorological Department, an alert for rain and storms has also been issued for the state capital, Jaipur. Today, parts of Kota, Udaipur, and Bharatpur may experience storms or rainfall. Between May 8 and 11, maximum temperatures in the border areas of the Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions could reach 45–46 degrees Celsius.


Rain Expected in South India
According to the Meteorological Department, weather conditions are likely to change in several parts of South India between May 6 and 9. Light to scattered rainfall may occur across various regions in the states, including Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, and Telangana. There is a likelihood of thunderstorms, squalls, and strong winds reaching 30–50 km per hour.


Weather Outlook for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh
Between May 6 and 9, the weather in Madhya Pradesh is expected to change significantly. Meanwhile, the impact of adverse weather conditions will also be observed in Chhattisgarh during this same period (May 6–9). These regions face the possibility of thunderstorms, lightning strikes, and strong winds of 40–50 km per hour.
