Vietnamese President To Lam was given a grand welcome on his arrival in Gaya Ji, Bihar. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary himself welcomed him and described this visit as historic. This visit is the beginning of his three-day state visit to India, which is considered important to further advance the strong relations between the two countries.
The Chief Minister said on the social media platform ‘X’ that the arrival of the President of Vietnam in the spiritual and cultural city Gaya Ji is a matter of pride. He expressed hope that the visit will take the already strong relations between India and Vietnam to new heights.
It is being told that this is ‘To Lam’s first visit to India after becoming the President. This special occasion is also important because India and Vietnam are completing 10 years of ‘Comprehensive Strategic Partnership’. This partnership has strengthened political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries.
During his visit to Gaya, the President offered prayers at the Mahabodhi Temple. He also meditated under the sacred Bodhi tree and visited a Vietnamese monastery. This place is considered extremely sacred for the followers of Buddhism, hence this journey has special significance.
After this the President left for New Delhi, where he will hold an important meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will also meet President Draupadi Murmu. Many important issues are expected to be discussed during this period. Bihar Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr. Prem Kumar also described the visit as a matter of pride and said that it is an honor for the entire state for the President of Vietnam to visit this holy land of knowledge.
