In Siddharthnagar, Uttar Pradesh, two children stranded atop a water tank were successfully rescued by the Indian Air Force. This operation took place on Sunday morning, utilizing a helicopter for the rescue.
The children had become trapped on the water tank during the night. The ladder used for climbing up and down had broken, leaving them unable to descend.
The Indian Air Force shared a video of the rescue operation on social media. They reported that, following a request from the state government, a Mi-17 V5 helicopter from the Central Air Command was deployed. By approximately 5:30 AM, both children were safely retrieved and the helicopter landed directly in Gorakhpur.
Shivsharanappa, the District Magistrate of Siddharthnagar, stated that the district administration maintained constant communication with the Air Force officials. He expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister's office, noting that their coordination made the rescue operation possible and that both children are now safe.
