Priyadarshan's much awaited Bollywood comeback Bhooth Bangla released on April 17. The expectations from the latest horror comedy are at an all-time high as it marked the return of iconic duo, Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan after a decade. The film began its theatrical run on a promising note.
According to Sacnilk, as of day 5, Bhooth Bangla is currently running across 1,861 shows and has earned more than Rs 0.23 crore nett. This brings the total India gross collection to Rs 77.61 crore and India nett to Rs 64.98 crore so far.
On day 4, i.e. on first Monday, Bhooth Bangla made Rs 6.75 crore net in India over 10,984 shows, showing a massive dip of more than 70% from its Sunday surge. Despite failing its Monday test, Bhooth Bangla crossed the Rs 100 crore mark globally in just four days. Its worldwide collection on day 4 stood at Rs 106.34 crore.
Bhooth Bangla raked in Rs 12.25 crore on its opening day and Rs 3.5 crore nett in paid previews that were held from 9pm on August 16, 2026. It went on to mint Rs 19 crore and Rs 23 crore on second and third days respectively, registering a strong weekend run.
Although Bhooth Bangla has already surpassed the lifetime collections of Akshay Kumar’s movies like Sarfira (Rs 33.91 crore), Mission Raniganj (Rs 46 crore), and Selfiee (Rs 24.60 crore), it is still trailing behind his recent films like Jolly LLB 3 (Rs 171.64 crore), Housefull 5 (Rs 288.67 crore), Sky Force (Rs 150.01 crore), and Kesari Chapter 2 (Rs 145.01 crore).
The film had a strong opening despite Dhurandhar 2’s ongoing theatre run as well as IPL craze. On the other hand, Dhurandhar 2 has entered its final leg of theatrical run as it keeps seeing dips in its daily collections. It seems that it won’t be able to dethrone Dangal (Rs 2,070.30 crore) to become the highest-grossing Indian film of all time.
About ‘Bhooth Bangla’Bhooth Bangla is one of most-awaited films of 2026. After speculation, preponement and postponement, Bhooth Bangla finally released today. The makers had postponed the film’s release by one week due to Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 rampage.
Bhooth Bangla, however, garnered early buzz due to Priyadarshan’s return to Hindi cinema. Fans remain excited for Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan’s collaboration who have earlier joined forces for some of the best comedies like Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, De Dana Dan, and Khatta Meetha.
Apart from Akshay Kumar in the lead, Bhooth Bangla also features Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi and others in key roles.
