Hopes of Hera Pheri 3 dashed again

Mumbai: The prospects of the third part of the famous comedy film series ‘Hera Pheri’ have once again become bleak. The film’s lead actor Akshay Kumar has clarified that ‘Hera Pheri 3’ is not going for production at the moment. Recently, during the promotion of his new film ‘Bhoot Bangla’ on a channel, when he was asked about ‘Hera Pheri 3’, Akshay said, ‘Hera Pheri 3 is not being made yet.’ Even the host was shocked at this.

Akshay Kumar said smilingly, ‘I was also shocked to hear this. No problem, ‘Welcome’ has been made. You will have to recite some mantras so that everything becomes alright. It’s not even a year yet. There are many issues in this. It is not that all three of us (Akshay, Paresh Rawal and Sunil Shetty) are not together. All three of us are together in ‘Welcome to the Jungle’. There are some things I can’t say on camera. There are many agreements that prevent the project from moving forward.

The first film ‘Hera Pheri’ was directed by Priyadarshan in 2000, while its sequel ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ was made by Neeraj Vora in 2006. Both films have achieved cult status due to their fun storylines and great comedy.

Recently, the news of Paresh Rawal’s sudden separation from the project had shocked the fans and Akshay Kumar. Akshay had purchased the rights of this franchise, but a copyright dispute between the South Indian producer and Firoz Nadiadwala has halted the production of the film. For this reason this project has been stuck for many years.

Akshay clarified that all three actors are in love with each other, but the project is not going ahead due to legal and other problems.
