Sarah Ferguson hasn't appeared in public since she was driven to attend the christening of her granddaughter, Athena Mapelli Mozzi, in a blacked-out Range Rover back in December. While she has reportedly been spotted everywhere from Qatar to Switzerland and Ireland, it has now been suggested that she is on a "secret sofa-surfing world tour".

According to a damning new claim in the Daily Mail, the former Duchess of York is reportedly looking "dishevelled" and is relying on her high-profile friends to shelter her as she continues to be embroiled in scandal.

Along with her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, Sarah lost her remaining royal titles back in October and was evicted from Royal Lodge - the home she had shared with Andrew since 2008, despite their 1996 divorce.

An insider has now told the Daily Mail that Sarah is nervous and convinced that people wish her harm. She reportedly has three mobile phones, switching between them to fly under the radar and avoid being tracked.

They add that she has been staying in contact with friends through FaceTime calls, with insiders allegedly describing her appearance as "dishevelled".

The former Duchess has been leading a largely nomadic lifestyle since she was evicted from Royal Lodge in Windsor after damaging details about her former association with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein came to light.

She was named multiple times in the US Department of Justice's release of the Epstein files. However, being named in the files does not necessarily indicate wrongdoing.

Following her eviction from her former home, Sarah is believed to have travelled to the French Alps to spend time with friends before moving on to the United Arab Emirates. It is also believed that she spent time with Princess Eugenie in Qatar, who was in the country for an art fair as part of her job with art dealer Hauser and Wirth.

It has also been reported that Sarah sought refuge at the world-renowned Paracelsus Recovery Clinic in Zurich, Switzerland, earlier this year. The clinic reportedly costs £13,000 per night to stay there.

A Swiss source told the Daily Mail: "Sarah left for Zurich just after Christmas, and stayed until the end of January. She always feels at home at Paracelsus, and knows she'll get love and attention there, as well as expert health treatment when she's feeling at her most vulnerable."

It has also been suggested that she has spent some time at Ballyliffin Lodge & Spa in Donegal, Ireland.
