Donald Trump has sparked health concerns again after he opened up about the cognitive test he underwent away from the Oval Office. Concerns about the politician's cognitive health have been growing recently. Since he returned to office. Trump has displayed a series of unusual symptoms, including bruising on his hands and clear mental confusion.
Despite going about his duties as normal, many feel that things have reached a breaking point in recent weeks. On Thursday (March 26), the Republican leader addressed the world's press at the 11th cabinet meeting of his second term, making a strange admission.
The businessman revealed that he took a cognitive test to prove his capacity, but his truthfulness may have backfired. He proudly revealed: "I'm the only president that ever took a cognitive test.
"I took it three times. It's actually a very hard test for a lot of people. It wasn't hard for me. It starts off with an easy question, and by the time you get to the middle, it gets tougher - mathematical equations and things.
"I aced it all three times, in front of numerous doctors. I was told when I went in... 'Well, if you take it... and you do badly, it's probably going to get out'. One doctor said, 'I've never seen anybody get them all right, I've been doing the test for twenty years'."
It didn't take long before viewers flocked to X - formerly known as Twitter - to share their concerns online. One user penned: "You're treating a cognitive-screening task like it's supposed to be a math contest.
"That's not what it measures, and you know it. Serial 7s isn't a math challenge - it's a quick screen for attention, working memory, and processing speed." Another agreed: "The hardest mathematical equation on such a test is referred to as the Serial 7s test: You start at 100 and keep subtracting seven out loud.
"This is literally what he's bragging about. My seven-year-old could do this." A third echoed: "Yeah, it's a basic screening tool, not some elite equation test. The bar is literally no obvious cognitive impairment."
It comes after TV cameras caught the moment the US President's face appeared to "drop" and he closed his eyes - seemingly falling asleep during a televised meeting. Trump seemed like he was struggling to stay awake, jerking suddenly when he heard his own name mentioned, but otherwise letting his chin fall closer to his chest.
Viewers quickly cottoned on to what was happening and turned to social media, with one tweeting: "Trump's face is drooping, and his eyes are closed." Another agreed: "Briefly opens his eyes when he hears his name. My dog used to do that." While a third viewer posted: "Trump is unfit for office! The 25th amendment out to be utilised." Someone else posted: "The way he jerks awake... scary."
