Arsenalhave been told why winning the Carabao Cup would give the Gunners a big chance of securing an unprecedented quadruple. The Gunners will face Manchester City in the final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday afternoon as they look to get a first trophy of the season under their belts.
Mikel Arteta's side are still competing on all four fronts this season and are the only club to be doing so after City's defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League in midweek.
Arsenal have a Champions League quarter-final against Sporting Lisbon and an FA Cup quarter-final away at Southampton next month, while also holding a nine-point advantage at the top of the Premier League table.
With Arsenaland City also competing for the Premier League title, Shearer has explained why Sunday’s Carabao Cup final could give a spark to the Gunners in their quest to win a quadruple.

“If Arsenal win the Carabao Cup, the quadruple is seriously on,” Shearer told Betfair. “And it's a big if because it's a huge game, a huge game for both clubs because this probably is City's last chance in terms of the silverware.
“It's a huge game for both clubs but yeah, If Arsenal win this one, then the talk will intensify of winning four trophies, which clearly has never been done before.
“There is pressure on both clubs and pressure for different reasons. The talk about this being Pep's last season.
“Man City have been nowhere near what they've been in the past in terms of their defence. They've given so many opportunities away which was summed up the other night against Real Madrid.

“It’ll be a highly charged game. There'll be plenty of excitement. There'll be a bit of bite in the game as well because of obvious reasons. But I'm really looking forward to the game.
“It should be a great Sunday with Newcastle kicking off early and then the Cup final as well. So yeah, it'll be amazing.”
No Premier League team has managed to win a quadruple - the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and Champions League - with Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United some of the clubs closest to achieving the feat in recent history.
Sunday’s final will also mark Arsenal’s last match before the March international break, with them having a two-week hiatus before returning to the pitch.
Arteta and Co. will then look ahead to the FA Cup quarter-final against Southampton on April 4 as their next fixture, before facing Sporting in the Champions League and Bournemouth in the Premier League during the following week.
