Chelsea star Alejandro Garnacho was once left furious after unfounded accusations of leaking team information at Manchester United.

The Argentine winger’s new club, Chelsea, are facing a similar issue. The Blues’ starting XI to face Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday evening was leaked by several French outlets on the morning of the game.

Such details hand Chelsea’s opponents, who are 5-2 up on aggregate, a boost ahead of the crucial Champions League last-16 second-leg tie. French outlet Onze Mondial’s report is the second time in a week that Liam Rosenior’s team news has been supposedly leaked.

Rosenior’s selection for the first leg had also been released by the French media just hours before kick-off last week. He vowed to investigate the incident, saying at the time: "I wasn't aware [of the leak]. I'm sure we'll get to the bottom of that if that's the case."

However, it appears the west Londoners have not been successful in doing so. It comes after Chelsea winger Garnacho was accused by sections of United fans on social media of leaking team news while he still played for the Old Trafford side last season - a claim he vehemently denied.

In December of 2024, under Ruben Amorim, United’s line-ups were repeatedly leaked ahead of matches. The issue, which dated back to even David Moyes and Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils tenures, saw some fans point the finger at 21-year-old Garnacho, as well as his United team-mate Amad.

Both players passionately denied any wrongdoing and United were left extremely frustrated by the accusations circulating online. The Daily Mail reported the club did not accept either player being wrongfully accused without any evidence.

Club officials stood by the duo, suspecting those accusing them were merely trying to boost their online presence. It was reported that Garnacho and Amad were on the verge of publicly addressing the issue prior to the Europa League victory over Viktoria Plzen.

However, their request to do so was denied by the club, who feared it would only exacerbate the situation. Garnacho has never been found guilty of leaking team information.

United have suffered from the same issue this season, with Michael Carrick’s line-up reportedly being released ahead of January’s Manchester Derby. There is no proof of Garnacho being the culprit at either club.

The winger has made 34 appearances for the Blues since his £40million transfer to Stamford Bridge last summer. He has struggled to nail down a role as a starter and has scored just one goal in the Premier League this season.
