Igor Tudor has been slated for not even acknowledging Antonin Kinsky after his Champions League horror show against Atletico Madrid. Kinsky, 22, endured a nightmare 14-minute period which saw him ship three awful goals.

Tudor made the bold decision to give the Tottenham Hotspur second keeper the nod ahead of Guglielmo Vicario at the Wanda Metropolitano. After six minutes, the Spurs' interim manager's decision was proved to be the wrong one, as Kinsky slipped as he tried to distribute the ball, before Marcos Llorente put Atletico into the lead.

He was then easily beaten by Antoine Griezmann after Micky van de Venn slipped over and allowed the Frenchman to go through. Diego Simeone's side were then gifted a third by Kinsky, as he scuffed a pass into the path of Julian Alvarez, who was able to tap in the easiest goal of his career -this proved to be his last action.

That horrendous pass proved to be the Czech's final touch of the ball, as Tudor took him off and introduced Vicario from the bench, ending his night after less than a quarter-of-an-hour. But as Kinsky left the field, Tudor did not even acknowledge the young keeper, who was on the verge of tears.

The sight of the Croatian not even speaking to Kinsky left Champions League pundit and former Liverpool star Steve McManaman incensed. "That poor keeper has had a terrible night after being chosen by how own manager," the TNT Pundit said.

"For his manager not to even acknowledge him, not to go over and say 'sorry, don't worry about it,' put his arm around him, do something, to affect the situation. That is cold as cold can be."

Former Tottenham and Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart also admitted he was devastated for Kinsky, saying: "I’ve been trying to make sense of it and my overall feeling is that my heart is absolutely broken for the lad.

"Look, I know it’s a tough sport, it’s the Champions League, it’s such an important game. I said it before the game, he [Tudor] had an opportunity to give us the reason why he put him in goal and he didn’t say.

"Was he getting an opportunity tonight? Was he just filling the the gloves for one game? Who knows? And I’m sure that felt like the message given to him [Kinsky] on such a special night."

Vicario was not able to rescue matters when he was brought onto the pitch. Robin Le Normand scored Atletico's fourth goal, eight minutes after Vicario entered the game.

Things then went from bad to worse for the north Londoners as Julian Alvarez finished off a lightning fast counter-attack to make it five, 12 seconds after Richarlison saw a golden chance be saved by Jan Oblak.
