A UK fashion brand known for being a staple in Princess Catherine's wardrobe has launched a closing-down sale across 22 stores. The firm plunged into administration earlier this year, with shops put at risk of closing for good.
LK Bennett, founded by Linda Bennett in London in 1990, collapsed in January, with John Noon and Mark Firmin of Alvarez & Marsal Europe LLP appointed as joint administrators later that month. The brand has since been sold to US firm Gordon Brothers, but nine stand-alone stores and 13 concession stores, located across the UK, were not included in the deal. They are now at risk of closure and have launched sales with up to 75% off.
As reported by The Herald, the LK Bennett website states: "The LK Bennett stores were not included in the transaction and continue to trade under the Administration. Online sales via the LK Bennett website continue for the foreseeable future."
On the sales, a spokesperson added: "There are some truly exceptional offers available across all categories. Everything has been reduced, including new season pieces.
"We anticipate strong demand and expect key styles to sell through quickly; we would like to thank our loyal customers for their support over the years and invite them to shop early to avoid disappointment."
LK Bennett is known for being a premium women clothes brand, specialising in dresses, knitted wear, luxury footwear such as boots, and handbags. The brand is loved by Kate Middleton, who has often chosen it for royal engagements.

After being founded in Wimbledon in 1990, the brand expanded to Europe with a boutique opening in Paris in 1990. It has since opened branches in the Netherlands, Spain, the UAE and the US.
The website adds: "The Company's affairs, business and property are being managed by the Joint Administrators, who act as agents of the Company and without personal liability. The Joint Administrators, the Joint Administrators' firm and any of the Joint Administrators' partners, employees, agents or advisers will not bear any liability, whether personal or otherwise under or in connection with the terms and conditions nor any other policy."
