Coronation Street's Barbara Knox is a genuine soap legend - and she reportedly earns an impressive salary with it recently being exposed. The 92-year-old star first appeared on screen as Rita Tanner in 1964, before joining the cast permanently in 1972.


With over six decades of television work behind her, it comes as little surprise that Barbara reportedly commands a substantial fee for her role on the ITV soap. As the second-longest serving cast member, only outdone by William Roache who plays Ken Barlow, Barbara reportedly earns a staggering £200,000.


Her co-star, Bill, is believed to earn £250,000 for his role as Ken Barlow, making him the top earner amongst the Coronation Street cast. He has also boosted his income through the celebrity video platform Cameo, where fans can purchase personalised messages for over £50.


Other notable earners on Coronation Street include Michael Le Vell, who receives £170,000 annually for his role as Kevin Webster, and Simon Gregson, who takes home £150,000 for his portrayal of Steve McDonald.

Bill has played iconic character Ken Barlow since the first episode of Coronation Street aired in 1960.


The 93-year-old, who is listed in the Guinness World Records as the longest-serving male television star in a continuous role, reportedly rakes in £250,000 from the ITV show.


Jack P Shepherd has played the role of Corrie's David Platt since he was just a child. He has been a part of the soap's cast since 2000, meaning that he has been a stalwart character for over 25 years, having joined at age 12.


The actor, 38, is reported to be worth a whopping £6 million overall.



Kim Tate star, Claire King, is Emmerdale's reported biggest earner on £230,000 a year.


She joined the ITV soap in 1989 before leaving ten years later. She later re-joined in 2018.


Away from the soap, she has also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity Big Brother.



EastEnders' tough man Phil Mitchell is played by Steve McFadden. He reportedly rakes in £200,000 a year for the iconic role.


According to Celebrity Net Worth, Steve, 66, who joined Albert Square in 1990, is worth £2.8 million overall.


As well as his work on the BBC soap, his other credits include an appearance in Kevin & Perry Go Large in 2000 and he also presented game show Britain's Hardest in 2004.



Ian Beale actor Adam Woodyatt reportedly earns a £200,000 salary from his EastEnders role.


Overall, he reportedly has a net worth of around £1.7 million.


He also appeared on I'm A Celebrity in 2021 and it's thought he was paid £250,000 for his stint.
