The number one T20I team in the world, India, is scheduled to face Zimbabwe and the West Indies in their remaining two Super 8 matches of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. India will first face Zimbabwe at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Thursday (February 26), before facing the West Indies at Eden Gardens on Sunday (March 1).

 

Both matches are must-win for India, who suffered a massive 76-run loss to South Africa in their opening Super 8 match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 on February 22.

 

In T20Is, India has played 13 matches against Zimbabwe, winning 10 of them. Their last encounter was on July 14, 2024, in Harare, where India won by 42 runs.

Talking about the T20 World Cup, India has played a total of four matches against the West Indies, but they have won only one.

 

That one win came on March 23, 2014, in Mirpur, where India registered a comfortable seven-wicket victory. But in the remaining three matches, which were played at Lord’s, Bridgetown, and Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, India lost the match, and the margin of victory was seven wickets, 14 runs, and seven wickets, respectively.
